Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Vocnu collects, why we use it and what rights you have. The controller is JAD Tech MB, Linkmenų g. 19-123, LT-08217 Vilnius, Lithuania (306053201). Write to support@vocnu.com with any privacy question.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and Google account identifier.
- Your content: media you upload and what we produce from it, such as transcripts, translations, voice-over audio, subtitles and videos.
- Usage and billing data: the jobs you run, your credit balance and history, and purchase records we receive from Paddle, such as the order number, country and amount. We never receive your full card details.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, and logs needed to run and protect the Service.
- Messages you send us, such as support requests.
Why we use it
- To provide the Service: process your media, keep your results available and manage your credits (performance of our contract with you).
- To send sign-in links and essential service messages (performance of our contract with you).
- To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse, fraud and copyright infringement (our legitimate interests).
- To keep records the law requires, such as tax and accounting records (legal obligation).
We do not sell your data, show ads or use your content to train AI models.
Who processes it for us
These providers help us run Vocnu. Each processes data only on our instructions and under a data processing agreement.
- Hetzner Online (Germany): servers for the website, the app and its database.
- Cloudflare (storage in the EU): domain name service and storage of uploaded media and results.
- Modal Labs (United States): computing that transcribes, translates, voices and renders your media.
- OpenAI (United States): translation of transcripts.
- ElevenLabs (United States): generation of the voice-over from translated text.
- Resend (United States): delivery of sign-in and service emails.
- Paddle (United Kingdom): checkout, payments, invoices and taxes as Merchant of Record. Paddle is an independent controller for payment data under its own privacy notice.
- Google (United States): optional sign-in with your Google account.
When data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on adequacy decisions, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded media: deleted 7 days after upload.
- Generated files: deleted 30 days after they are created.
- Account, job and credit records: while your account exists, and up to 30 days after you delete it.
- Purchase and tax records: as long as the law requires, usually up to 10 years.
- Security logs: up to 90 days.
Cookies
We only use cookies the Service needs: a session cookie that keeps you signed in to the app, and a language cookie (vocnu_locale) that is set when you choose a language. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and you can object to or restrict how we process it. Write to support@vocnu.com; we reply within one month. You can also complain to a data protection authority, such as Lithuania's State Data Protection Inspectorate (vdai.lrv.lt) or the authority in your country.
Children
Vocnu is not intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We publish updates to this policy on this page and tell you about significant changes by email or in the app.
